Refractive Therapy

We generally encourage patients to explore all options when considering refractive surgery. Our doctors have managed many patients who have undergone Lasik, PRK, Intacs, RK, and Corneal Reshaping Technology. If you are over age 20, have a stable prescription, are in good health, you may be a candidate for Refractive Surgery. We are technologically equipped to provide the pre and post operative care for each of these conditions. During your evaluation we can discuss expected visual outcomes and the reasonableness of each procedure for your unique visual and eye health needs.

Generally, patients are referred to a Lasix Center for consultation. Although centers exist in Providence, some patients elect to visit Boston or Canada for the procedure. The cost currently is between $1,000 to $5,000 for both eyes. This number is dropping rapidly in other parts of the country and in Canada for as little as $2,000.
